Tornado Gold's Future Focus | Our Mission
It is our goal at Tornado Gold to create a maximum return on investment for our shareholders through the discovery of one or more giant gold deposits on our properties. A giant gold deposit is one that contains at least 7 million ounces of economically extractable gold. Any smaller gold deposits that are found can be exploited or sold off to companies that have lower objectives. In order to accomplish this ambitious objective, our exceptional team of proven explorers will utilize unique, cutting-edge technology to quickly and precisely target the areas on the earth where these giant deposits may lie undiscovered. Gold was chosen as Tornado Gold’s target commodity because of its unique place in human history and cultures. Gold is not only a useful metal, gold is money! Although we intend to search the entire globe for giant gold deposits, we have chosen to begin in Nevada, one of the most prospective places on earth to find and exploit giant gold deposits. If Nevada were a country, it would be the third largest gold producing country in the world. Giant gold deposits are still being discovered in Nevada, witness the discovery only a little over two years ago of the Cortez Hills gold deposit with an announced 7.5 million ounces of gold resources and growing!
Any gold deposit is the product of a source of metal, a pathway of metal-bearing solutions, and a favorable site for the deposition of the gold. Without a source of gold, there will be no gold deposit! In order to detect suitable gold source areas, we use a tool developed by one of our founders called magmatic affinity. By studying the geology and geochemistry of the mineralized rocks and the source igneous rock bodies at a site, we believe we can determine whether or not such a source has ever developed a giant gold deposit anywhere in the world. Only those sources with the potential to produce giant gold deposits will be pursued. Once a property has passed the magmatic affinity test and has been acquired by Tornado Gold, it will be subjected to a kinematic structural analysis. The goal of this work is to locate those areas on the property where gold-bearing solutions can most easily travel toward the surface. It is important to know where the “plumbing system” faults and fractures are located, but also where, along these fractures, are the most favorable individual “pipes” where the largest volume of the solutions flowed. In conjunction with this analysis is a metal dispersion study. Gold is not the only metal contained in the mineralizing solutions, but is part of a large geochemical “soup” that affects the rocks surrounding the “plumbing system”. Some of the metals are deposited near the main fractures, some a short distance away, and some farther away so that the fractures can be pinpointed in a three-dimensional pattern (when drill information is included), even under cover. A study of the gold source rocks, called pluton vectoring, allows us to track the cooling history of the melted source pluton and to accurately determine where this pluton has released gold into the surrounding environment. Using these tools and sharpening our targets with geophysics and stratigraphy we drill only when we have a clear understanding of the nature of a potential gold deposit and its precise location. We believe we are able to make our discoveries with a minimum of expensive, wasted drill holes. In other words, we think we are able to minimize the risk of exploration to the greatest degree possible!
